310 Textual see reference note

This field is used in a reference record when an adequate see reference cannot be constructed solely from the content of one or more 4XX field(s). Each access point referred to and the "see" (or similar) instruction is given in field 310.

The authorized access point to be searched under in the catalogue. Transcribe the access point according to the rules in use by the agency, including any required punctuation.

NOTES ON FIELD CONTENTS

In the General List of Subject Headings (SGC), an access point from a 2XX field in a reference record never simultaneously functions as a variant access point in a 4XX field in any of the authority records referred to in field 310.
